Hayloft Candles Ice Cream & Petting Zoo in Lancaster, PA

Weeks ago, my family visited Lancaster area in Pennsylvania. Well, to be specific we looked around Amish businesses and markets. Thanks to a pastor who lived in the area, our family was able to look around the local Amish markets. If you are from Lancaster, PA area I guess you know better than I do, but it was a very interesting and tasty weekend for me.

Hayloft Candles
The first Amish store I would like to share is Hayloft Candles.
The place sold homemade ice cream and candles. I didn't pay too much attention to all the stuff till I bought some ice cream, but they had pretty interesting candles. Maybe I should look through more carefully next time.

Tian Korean-Chinese restaurant in Ellicott City, MD UPDATE

I visited Tian today and they were doing another special. However, today I wasn't prepared...so no pictures...

(for past reviews of this restaurant click here...)

Current special deals are if you order special large entree, Tangsooyook (sweet and sour pork/beef/chicken) OR Gganpoongi (like spicy buffalo wings in that restaurant) you get a FREE bowl of Jjajangmyun (Noodle with Black bean paste sauce).

Well, Jjajangmyun tasted ok. I think it actually got better, but don't forget that their Jjajangmyun was REALLY YUCKY the first time LOL.

And Tian started to give out free desserts for everyone, Red Bean Paste with Shaved Ice called Ppatbingsoo.

Here comes our experience... [Read more...]

Our 2008 Thanksgiving Dinner

My mom (Young) used to cook all turkey and ham...etc but she got smart.
We ordered from The Boston Market since last year (or was it couple years ago?), so less hassle for the elders who used to prepare our Thanksgiving dinners... or so it may seem.

These days it's very convenient that you can order turkey or ham and just reheat it for couple hours. We ordered both Turkey and 2 chunks of ham from The Boston Market along with cornbread. It cost us little over $100. Our dinner was for a family size of about 20 people. Everything was good!

Other markets offer holiday dinners too. I personally like Giant's Thanksgiving Dinner. For about $40 you get a Turkey, dinner rolls, mashed potato, gravy, cranberry sauce, and stuffing! They say it's good for about 8 people but I think it's way more food than 8 servings. Plus their cranberry sauce was really good! Yum.

Well back to our own Thanksgiving Dinner...

Turkey
Young garnished the Turkey and prepared all other sides.
