I begged my mom for something fried dripping with spicy (yet sweet) sauce. Mmmmmmm...My mom, Young, got out the deep fryer (highly recommended when deep frying) and with Costco's individually packed wings....(we really like how they packaged it all separately in small servings)...she cooked me a wonderful spicy Korean wings.

This kind of wings can also be called Yangnyum Dak. Yangnyum means sauce or marinade and Dak means chicken. Oh and if you don't want any sauce or want the sauce on the side just skip the last step and regular fried wings will be good as it is too! It's not hard at all (except for the frying part). Don't really like to be near hot oil. So shall we start?
Ingredients
Mix following for frying:
6 wings
1/2 cup starch
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/3 cup wine
2 tsp salt
Sauce:
1-2 slice of pineapple
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup red pepper paste
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tsp ginger juice (chop and squeeze out the juice)
*Feel free to increase/decrease sweetness or spiciness (but please try as it is first)*
Let's Start!

Cut wings like the picture.

Mix ingredients for frying first. Ours was little too red....hmmph...nothing wrong with my camera (maybe too honest)...I poured a little too much wine...Hah hah...

Heat up the deep fryer to the maximum heat (in our case 370 degrees)...of course...put fresh oil first. Ok?
Don't try to cook it all the way at once. Fry it 2-3 times to evenly cook the wings without burning them.

Well, if you just want regular wings this is it! If you want the sauce too, go ahead and scroll down.

Now time for the sauce. Mix all the sauce ingredients in a pot or a deep pan. At a medium to high temperature, keep stirring and heat the sauce. Look at my mom go! Right....just slow stirring is fine.

When the wings are all ready to go, put the wings in the sauce and stir so that the sauce is covered thoroughly.

Mix little bit more...Ooooo

Yummmm~Now this is the Spicy Sweet Wings!
Enjoy!!!
p.s. you know how I love Sriracha? If you need some more heat for your wings...add Sriracha to the sauce. Oh yeah!
